The List – Keeping up with the Funders

A man and a woman working at a desk high fiving each other and smiling

We know from the conversations we have with customers every day that funding is tough for charities. Costs and demand have gone up; any contract income isn’t keeping up; and trusts and foundations keep moving the goalposts – often (to stretch the metaphor) taking them off the field completely for a while.

Even big funders (who should know better and be able to cope, honestly) are part of this – the Lottery closed the Million Hours Fund early last month. This just makes life even harder for fundraisers. How do you keep up, find out when things change, know when funders are ready to accept applications again?

Enter The List. Originally an openly-shared spreadsheet created and curated by Jo Jeffery it’s proved an indispensible source of updates. It’s open and free and it just got a sparkly new website, created by Tom Watson at Data for Action. It’s still open and free. You can search for updates, and subscribe to email updates. And it’s a commons – if you find out something helpful, you can submit it to the site too.

We love it. So we’re really pleased to be able to support it as headline sponsor. And we’re really looking forward to working with Jo to offer what support to fundraisers we can…
